Record Christmas Project

New homes. Renovations. Thousands of gifts.

This Christmas season reminded us why we do this work.

Because for some families, the holidays weren’t about decorations or celebrations — they were about safety, warmth, and finally having a place to call home.

This year, we purchased a new home for the Marković family and immediately began renovations to make it truly livable. At the same time, we secured land for the Kočić family, taking the first step toward building a new home for them from the ground up. For the Filipović family, we launched a full renovation of their existing house, turning years of uncertainty into a future with dignity and stability.

Beyond homes, Christmas reached those who often feel forgotten. Thousands of gifts were delivered to orphanages and centers for children with disabilities across the region — moments of joy, care, and attention wrapped in something simple, but deeply meaningful.

This was a record Christmas Project not because of numbers, but because of impact — real lives changed, real hope restored.

Because of You: A Home for the Marković Family

Thanks to your incredible generosity, we have raised enough funds to purchase a modest new home chosen by the Marković family in their neighborhood. The family, which includes seven children, has been living in a one-bedroom house, and together we agreed that securing a proper home was the most urgent priority. The purchase will be officially completed on January 9, once the notary returns from the Christmas holiday.

The home will require renovations, and the family is still without some basic necessities, including beds for the children. To help cover these additional costs, we will be extending the fundraiser until Orthodox New Year (January 14). Please stay tuned for updates as we move forward.

On behalf of the Marković family, thank you for your kindness, solidarity, and for reminding them that there is no shame in not having, only dignity in compassion.

The Marković family went viral after a video of their humble holiday meal was shared online and mocked across social media, reaching tens of millions of viewers. What should have been a private, dignified moment turned into public humiliation, with cruel comments and ridicule directed at the family for their poverty. The incident sparked widespread outrage and led to a rapid humanitarian response to support them.

Entering Our 15th Year

Prvi projekat organizacije 28.

Donacije dostavljene u Dom „Duško Radović“ i Manastir Svete Petke

Jun. Uključeni su bili pevaci Aleksandra Prijović, Saša Kovačević, Teodora Džehverović, Saša Matić i Milica Todorović; glumci Pavle Mensur, Miona Marković i Sloboda Mićalović; NBA igrači Nikola Topić i Tristan Vukčević; igrači fudbalske reprezentacije Nemanja Gudelj, Ivan Ilić, Saša Lukić i Nemanja Radonjić; te influenseri Aleksandra Bezmaravić Stević, Vladimir Zvekić, Boris Malagurski i Jovan Radulović.

S ljubavlju i zahvalnošću,
Tim 28. Juna

Prolećna Humanitarna Akcija

Help us renovate the “Sv. Petka” orphanage for children with special needs in Paracin!

For our Spring 2024 Humanitarian Project, we aim to renovate the “Sv. Petka” Monastery and orphanage for children with special needs in Paracin. Our objective is to create a secure, nurturing environment for the children and youth with severe developmental disabilities, as well as those without parental care, who call it home. We first visited the nuns caring for the children at the “Sv. Petka” Monastery in the summer of 2014 and have continued to support them with numerous deliveries over the years. Now, exactly 10 years after our first visit, we are eager to support their amazing work once again.

We plan to coordinate fundraisers and awareness events worldwide, uniting the global Serbian community in supporting this orphanage. Contact aleksandrapjevalica@28jun.org to get involved!

Vision 2026

Vision 2026 represents a pivotal 30-month capital campaign, running from April 15, 2024, to our 15th anniversary on October 15, 2026. The initiative is focused on achieving three key goals:

• Maintaining 28. Jun’s status as one of the leading humanitarian organizations in Eastern Europe.

• Sustaining 28. Jun’s position as one of the premier lobbying organizations in the Western Balkans.

• Expanding 28. Jun’s role as an international disaster relief organization.

We will be allocating $6 million over the next 3 years to special projects aimed at achieving our goals. These projects will focus on key areas such as supporting vulnerable groups (children, women, and the elderly), addressing poverty and housing issues, improving healthcare and the environment, promoting sports and culture, and enhancing the economy and animal welfare.

We consider it our obligation to leverage our unique capabilities to take our mission to the next level during this period. This project stands as our most ambitious endeavor yet and will culminate in our 10th-anniversary Christmas project in the winter of 2026. We hope for your support as we strive to achieve the extraordinary before our 15th year.
