28. Jun Completes Holiday Deliveries, Makes ‘Help Serbian Families’ Monthly Project

After the incredible public response to helping the Djergovic family buy a new home this Holiday season, 28. Jun launched the ‘Help Serbian Families’ project. With the deliveries to the maternity ward in Kosovska Mitrovica and a donation to the Church of St. Elijah in Podujevo, along with the donation to the Bogavac family in Podgorica, we can now proclaim our holiday ‘Help Serbian Families’ project a success! With this being the final delivery it also completes the overall ‘Help Serbian Families’ project which saw us help Serbian families in Serbia, Republika Srpska, Krajina, Montenegro and lastly, Kosovo i Metohija, during the holiday season. 28. Jun will take the next few weeks to work out the details of a massive project we hope to begin this summer which will see us assist the 1000 poorest Serbian families in the Balkans.

28. Jun Assists Children Who Lost Their Mother

28. Jun seldom donates to individuals, as our main focus has been donating to hospitals, Churches, orphanages, shelters for women and centers for the disabled. However, when our members in the field encounter extraordinary situations we have made exceptions.

Yesterday, several long-time 28. Jun members brought up the case of Jovan and Predrag Djergovic from the village of Zagradje. As covered by the Serbian media, the two brothers aged 9 and 6, live in horrific conditions. Predrag has a speech impediment which developed when they lost their mother two years ago to cancer, her final agonizing moments played out in front of the young boys. They live with their father in a house which has no basic necessities, food is scarce, the boys do not own footwear without holes and their only toy is a bicycle with a missing wheel.

As told by the reporter, they have never seen a computer and do not know what the internet is, the floor of their house is covered in mud and mice walk on the boys as they sleep. We have decided to assist this family and help secure a brighter future for these two boys who have already endured so much in their young lives.

VICTORY! #NoKosovoUnesco

No_Kosovo_UNESCO_28_Jun

Kosovo was denied UNESCO membership by just 3 votes at today’s session! 28. Jun and our partner Boris Malagurski would like to thank all those who supported our successful #NoKosovoUnesco campaign by signing and sharing the petition. We also want to thank the Serbian government, Students for Truth and General MacKenzie in particular for their contribution to our initiative. The support from the public was incredible as our main petition and others received 50,000 more signatures than our original goal of 100,000. Our #NoKosovoUnesco viral video has over 50,000 views after just 48 hours of being released!

We need 100,000 signatures in 72 hours to prevent Kosovo from joining UNESCO. 28. Jun is teaming up with famed film maker Boris Malagurski in a last ditch effort to nix Kosovo’s bid at UNESCO membership. We are aiming to collect 100,000 signatures before the decision is scheduled to take place on October 21st. 28. Jun has worked with the UN in the past and will use all our channels to influence the decision but we ask the public to make their voice heard. We invite all of the civilized world to protect the Serbian cultural, religious and historical heritage in the Southern Serbian province of Kosovo and sign the petition against the separatist government in Pristina being granted membership in UNESCO. The final delivery was made possible by a generous donation from the Israeli advocacy organization StandWithUs. Since 2011, 28. Jun successfully completed 5 projects which encompassed 22 deliveries of aid to Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia, Montenegro and Kosovo. The aid was transported from North America via ship and from Western and Central Europe via truck. “The Serbian and Jewish peoples have shared a long history of oppression and persecution. We’ve shared the horror of the Jasenovac concentration camp. Now, free in our homelands, Serbia and Israel have the opportunity to share a thriving future. On behalf of the Israeli people, StandWithUs is proud to contribute toward Serbian flood relief in the hopes of continuing and growing our historical friendship,” said Michael Dickson, StandWithUs Director.
